We are thinking about making the main pH7 site brighter and more modern like these forums. Do you think we should leave it how it is or change it?

I think the new design although very modern and stylish is too plain and thus boring. A brighter colour should be used to highlight parts. Perhaps a silvery blue.

I believe although the new design is better than the original it still needs improving further before it is implemented.

Does anyone else share my view?

though i made it, i agree its not that good but was only made quickly and is being developed by Recon an Co.

It is unlikely that the site will be changed for a while as it takes ages to update it all. It probably will change to a modern design some time though.

The website and forum look fine, just the contrast of modern and rusty does not look good. Would be good in future have forum look like it is embedded in website, not seperate, also a foum login function on the main page would be good and its not hard to make.

Its hard because modern looks nicest but rusty fits the games destruction theme better. Im sure sometime in the future we will come to some sort of compromise that represents both the theme of the game and the modern styling people seem to crave! I just do not think that a plain boring modern site is nice at all. Im all for a modern design it just musn't be bland.

As to an embedded forum thats all very well but correct me if I'm wrong an embedded forum would need to be built from scratch and I doubt that it would have as many features or be as reliable as this one so it would be pointless. A log in box is a good idea but again it is quite pointless when you can just log in on the forum i.e the bit you need to log into.

I went ahead and made the site modern. None of the original pictures have been put on yet though (they all have black backgrounds). I think we do need some images. The image of the STALKER on the main page was made by truth and was only meant to be temporary.

If anyone wants to make some suitable small images for all the pages, feel free. :D

If anyone else has any other suggestions, I could have a try. Nothing too extreme though! Anyone can have a go at redesigning the pages if they want to try something different. :thumbsup:

I do agree with most people in saying that the forums stand out in comparison to the actual site but to tell the truth i believe the scheme for the site is great and it suits a battlefiled 2 clan site. But it is hard to try and get in a rusty looking site that looks good with a modern style forum as they contrast in many ways! So i agree with Ivo as he says about the rusty looking site suits the type of site it is, i am no designer and cannot make pictures to save my like! But i feel with the designs i have seen by Ivo and Inherit for the signiture pictures that they or maybe even other people can make the site work with it's colour scheme and design! I have faith in the Members of ph7! :D

Lol this discussion topic is very old and relates to two designs used for the STALKER website. The current design was not even made when this was posted.
